This is prolly a long shot since this is more of service issue than a parts/warranty issue, but I'll ask and any info I get above and beyond what I have now is gravy!
So, thread linked below. My 2018 XL with the 101A pkg has a weird glitch that will not let me get into the auto-lock menu feature. Some have posted that some '18s have it, some don't. Made a service appt today and the service writer (not the technician) seemed dubious that a reflash would "fix" the error. Best guess?

Thx!

Can you solve the age old question... 5.0 or ecoboost?

Hoping you can help me with a couple of parts questions. The ford site shows that with the max tow you get an oil cooler and an aux. trans cooler. I do not have max tow but am wondering if I should upgrade my fluid cooling. My truck 2018 STX 3.5 eco has the heat exchanger coolers for trans and oil. What is added to the existing oil cooler and trans cooler to make it max. Since the trans cooler is thermostatically controlled then it seems a trans cooler would not start working until the trans reaches operating temp. I have looked at my trans plumbing and do not see how an aux cooler could be added without redoing the hard lines.
Thanks, Scott

I am baffled that I cannot get an answer from 2 different ford dealers at both the parts and service departments.. The local ford dealer will look up your VIN and tell you that part does not come with your truck. I can't figure why someone cannot tell me what part is added/needed. I should be able to walk in to any ford dealership and say "Please sell me trans cooler and oil cooler you put on the max tow package" I can't believe I am the only person wanting this info.

Liability.
we say the same thing here. Because then that same person could go out, overload their truck, wreck it and then say well X ford dealer sold me the parts so i could do this....and i could be wrong but there might be more to max tow than just oil coolers.
As the saying goes here. if you wanted it, you should have checked the box for it

how can added cooling be a liability issue? I bought the wrong truck, i specified xlt and max tow, my brother -in-law ,of all people was my salesperson, he told me he found a truck with everything and more. I said go for it without actually reading the window sticker and found myself with a STX which is a fancy XL. I mostly happy with the truck, it will get a LSD soon, but I want a trans and oil cooler in addition to what it already has . Am I wrong , do I need the extra cooling, or an I OK as is.
