Driving to work this morning, I saw a truck like this (pic attached), but with some surface rust, aftermarket but period correct wheels and no bedside tie downs. I thought it was cool so I rolled up beside the guy, nodded and mouthed 'nice'. He gave a HUGE smile. He looked so happy to be rolling in his F100. It had new plates. I bet he is going to make it shine this summer. One can hope, right?
No, this is not ugly.
What is ugly is this: Not 1/2 km later I come across a black 04-08 F150 SCrew with every bit of 'pep boys' chrome you can think of:
Chrome rockers.
Chrome B pillars.
Chrome fender flares.
Chrome mirror covers (not caps).
Chrome door handle covers.
Chrome tail light covers.
Chrome piping on all the door edges.
Chrome rub strips down the side.
Chrome grille insert.
Chrome bug shield.
A small chrome bull forward of the driver's door.
Three stick on chrome venti-ports on the fender above the wheel well.
This sealed it for me. Why three venti-ports on a V8 powered vehicle? Ugly and stupid are not good bedfellows.
Of course this guy has tunnel vision and doesn't cooperate with the flow of traffic.
I didn't take a pic as I was in traffic. Google and I can't find anything ugly enough to substitute. I suppose that is a good sign.

I don't have any pictures of it...But back when we were in Highschool my sister had a 1984 Pontiac Sunbird...Faded and chipped blue paint and a windsheild that resembled a spiderweb.

Well count me in. I love the Tundra looks and ya. I love to drive them. Owned 3. To each his own. If we all had the same taste, well that would be boring for sure. Glad we have so many options. The new F150s are pretty ugly compared to the last generation (imho)

Personally I really liked the 2004 - 2008 models they were some sharp looking trucks. I've grown accustomed to the headlight/grill setup on my 2011 however I never really have been a fan of the ''finned'' bedsides/tailgate or the tail lights that cut deep into the bedside, seems kind of Nissan-ish in my opinion. But for those few little apperance gripes my truck makes up for it with everything else!
As far as the 1997 - 2003 F-150's go...Those were my LEAST favorite...I never was fond of the softer round body styling. I don't think alot of people were and that's why Ford switched back to the square truckish style for the 2004 year model.
