X3 I think that there are still bugs to be worked out of the Livewire.

The difference between the 2 is the Livewire gives you guages that the Xcal III doesn't, but the Livewire is a pretty bulky unit. If you can live without the guages then go with the Xcal III. I had also heard about issues concerning the Livewire when it first came out, but I think they may have them corrected with updated firmware, don't quote me on that though. I have the Xcal II and just got a Scanguage II recently which gives me the guages that I wanted.

Just make sure when you order you get some custom tunes to go along wiht it. Either Troyer Performance (my recommendation) or VMP.

I already know that I'm getting custom tunes and I was planning on going with troyer I know I'm gonna hafta wait but like you wxmcpo I like the idea that they specialize with our vehicles vmp may be really good and it may not make a difference but I've been hearing alot of good things about troyer even though the wait is going to suck but I am patient Back to the tuners I've heard that livewire was having issues but I was liking the idea of the gauges but I was trying to figure out if it was worth the $200 difference and really don't want any issues

Well if the Livewire is $200 more than the Xcal 3 then I say go with the Xcal 3 and then just get yourself a Scanguage II and save some money.

I purchased a 92 Performance tune form VMP today so I could compare my Troyer tune next to the VMP tune and see which one is better. I will definitely keep you informed of my findings, although they will only be seat of the pants finding unless I can locate a dyno out here.

Well, if you were here on the main land you would have plenty of dyno's here to choose from. not to mention, one of the best master ford mechanics in the world around the block from me.

I will get his advice tommorrow, and see what he says.

Yeah Hawaii's beautiful and in the winter it's a great place to live, but for the most part I really miss the mainland. Things out here are expensive and just not convienent. Of course we're still paying cheaper gas prices then you folks in San Diego.

Gas is the only thing your paying less than me in!!! I bet you have to pay extra to get parts sent out to HI and stuff. if you calculate all the extra money put into shipping, your come out spending more anyways, just come back to the mainland and become a CMC on a San Diego ship. Or you can go to monterey with all your other AG friends.
