Default ARE truck cap

Hey Guys, I have a 2011 F150 super crew 6.5' bed. I found an ARE cap (camper style, not low profile) that's used from an extended cab 2012 F150 6.5ft bed. Before I run out and buy it, I wanted to make sure there isn't anything different with the fit with the two different cabs.

Thanks!

6.5 foot box is a 6.5 foot box. I cant see them putting different boxes on them because of a diff. size cab. Having said that, i have a ARE cap on my truck now and is the worst cab I've had so far, and i had several. My reasons may not matter to you, but here they are....Came from the factory with paint damage. Kept leaking at the right front corner and i hate the lift-gate with a passion. Unlike every other cab, this one has such a poor design, that when it rains and i open it, water runs right into the box at both ends and drips from the handle (on the inside, which means it's full of water), getting things i carry wet. But, it fits the box alright and might be all you're concerned about.....

Which model of ARE cap do you have? I was looking in to that brand.

I was looking at the MX with the extra head room or the X series. You say it wasn't up to par?

As mentioned above, i hate the liftgate. All other caps i had kept the water out when i opened it. This one has water running right into the box on both sides and through the handle, getting things wet inside the box near the tailgate. There is nothing keeping the water from running right off the roof into the box. No rails of any sort to guide water down beside the the opening and the bottom of the lift gate fills up with water, that then runs through the handle on the inside and drips down. Just pisspoor design as far as I'm concerned. Fits the box alright, but been having leak issues once in a while at the right front of the cap, which occationally needs new foam tape. Best caps i've had where Raider's. They been bought out by Leer and quality has gone south since, otherwise i'd buy nothing but...Had a Jason cap before this ARE, which i was far happier with. I can say with confidence that i'll be never buying another ARE myself, but there are plenty that like theirs.

I have an ARE cap on my FX4. Got it shortly after I bought the truck back in Oct. 2014. I also opted for the inside light, TWO locking handles for the lift glass, and the carpeted covering. Have got no real complaints at this time.

Re the water issue: I guess when it's raining and you open the glass, some water comes down into the bed, but it hasn't been that noticeable to me. And I have had no leaks, and it has been through some pretty heavy rain (Florida).
