I understand this to be a common attack on the doors, they punch through under the door handle, some people don't even realise it's damaged, only to find the door they thought was locked, isn't.
I fitted these: https://jimmijammer.com/Product,%20JJ.htm

I agree about feeling robbed twice. Mine is a little over $1000. Probably could have shopped around to get it done cheaper but don’t have time to mess around with it. I wish Ford would acknowledge the poor design and help us out with these repairs.

So did you ever get it fixed. This weekend i had the same issue and occurrence in my 2019 F250 King Ranch. They didn’t take anything other than my 9mm Baretta PX4 Storm. Arghhhh. Now my horn doesn’t work and can’t seem to find out how to enable i back again. I took it a Ford Dealership in San Antonio and they wanted 750$ just to fix the door handle. NOT… I need to get my horn bac enabled…

Spend the 10 minutes it takes to pull the grill the first time, you'll see and be able to repair the cut wires right away.

It had already been figured out how to capture remote entry signals, decipher the codes, and generate clone keys a decade before keyless entry. They went into this under the premise that the requirement of proximity to unlock and disarm would protect from theft, but anyone that works with NFC knows it offers zero protection.
They didn't even bother to include a lockout switch on the remotes, so people are stuffing their keys into Faraday bags to secure them.

San Antonio has one of the highest crime rates in the USA, have no idea why.

Best thing you can do with these trucks is move the horn to the other side of the crossbar. Takes a bit of unwinding the wrap, but the cable will reach through a hole above the inside edge of the lamp assembly so you can connect it to the horn on the other side without cutting. I also installed a piece of aluminum over the harness where they cut the horn wires in case they start snipping around blind, so they don't cut the other wires running through there.
