If your doing the mini h1s. Leave them in.
At least I do.

If your doing fxr or something OEM.

I used a pick set and flat screw driver

I did not read every post in this thread, but from what I can gather getting the lights apart is the hardest part? I am wanting to do this mod, or have it done, but getting the projectors aimed correctly is the part that bothers me the most. That and knowing how much to dremel out to mount the projector.

Yeah getting them open sucks. Barely had to dremel anything. Just the inner ring on the backside flush and a small bit on the front side. Aiming them wasn't bad either. The lines on the reflector are pretty good guidelines.

I only have my phone so I'm.hesitant to wear h through all pages of this thread. I had a set of trs full size fx-r kit and it was a nightmare on my 99. I have an 08 now and was gonna get a set of the minis since they have the threaded shaft on the projector. My question is, would I still have to use epoxy to keep them solid? Do I have to rig up my own adjustment method as with the fx-r kit?

(4) 2" #8 screws work perfect for holding the MH1 projector to the reflector housing. None were too long or short - it was probably the quickest thing I did so far. These things aren't moving now. Forgot what size bit I used but the screws easily cut threads into the reflector.

Made my shroud extenders - they turned out okay, could have done a much better job but getting burned out. Waiting for the JB weld to setup so I can mount them onto the projector.

I took the solenoid off my matchbox fog light projectors (will never use high beam) for them. The mini gatlin gun shrouds will fit w/o cutting now. Glued the cut-off shield to the plate and now waiting for the high temp RTV to cure so I can paint the whole thing. Should be able to put that together tomorrow and put both headlamp and fog lights back onto truck tomorrow.

Going to mount the matchbox reflectors with a couple screws also along with high temp RTV sealant.
What's a cut off shield?

Is the group buy price still active despite its age?
