My 15 only has 6000 miles and it's hard to believe the transmission pump has gone out.

I read somewhere that Ford (& others) had adopted the Japanese "Just in time" strategy. This means that instead of each dealer having loads of unused/unsold parts in inventory, they just keep on hand the more common parts that they would need. The way its supposed to work, is when they need a part they don`t normally keep in stock, they can just call a warehouse somewhere & the part will be rushed to them. I guess something got lost in the process.

I looked at fordparts.com an only a few trans shift linkage parts in stock. It may be more about joint ventures with competitors to keep production costs down and little in inventory.

I bought a 2015 F150 with the 2.7 ecoboost this past summer. I only had 6,800 miles on it when the wrench light came on.

I brought it to the dealership, and after reading the codes they told me the tranny pump went. Well they had no parts to fix it, and they could not find any parts in stock. I was told to not tow or plow with the truck until it could be fixed. In the mean time my gas mileage dropped to high 18's to the low 19's plus the on off feature stopped working on the engine. I was told this was tied into the tranny problem.
I did get in touch with a Ford rep and she has been some help. Jen got the dealer to take my truck and give me a loaner. Been a long ten days driving a Focus while waiting for parts to appear. You ever drive one of these in a snow storm with not so good tires.

Just wondering if any of you have had, or heard of anyone running into this problem.
Thanks
LOL I would have told them to give me the same truck or better. You got screwed on that loaner. 21 days in a loaner sure beats walking but that's some cheapo BS right there.

A friend of mine had a whistle noise coming from his windshield and they gave him another F150 as a loaner for 2 weeks while they tried to figure it out. Turns out it was being caused by his shorter aftermarket antenna!!! It wasn't the truck at all. LOL

Focus loaner.... Oh man.

It has been two weeks already.
Ford Company said the pump is on order.
Weird today was the first time I got a email update on my thread.

Good luck with them getting the part in anytime soon.
I got a call from the service dept. 2 weeks after I got my truck back. The worker told me he had a part in for my truck. I asked him what part and he told me the transmission cooler pump. Told him they took one out of a truck on the lot, and I have my truck. That's how long it took to get one they just don't have them to do repairs.

Default Same Issue

I got word last week that our 2015 F150 2.7L Eco has this issue. AND...no parts available. Today I was told that the part will be released on JULY 20th! This is one month from yesterday and 6 weeks from the day I took it to the dealer!
The service advisor is supposed to call me today to see "if anything can be done" about getting the part sooner. I have a funny feeling I am going to escalate this to the higher ups really fast!
This sucks

Not a 15 but my 14 has been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks. 15k and the trans took a dump after they worked on it the first time. Originally, I would get an intermittent wrench light and the trans wouldn't shift past third. They pulled the solenoids, CLEANED them, put a filter on the lead frame connector and gave it back. It made it a week. New symptoms were occasional slamming into 2nd at parking lot speeds. Called dealer and they told me to keep driving. It finally did it so bad it just started grinding, clunking, etc. on the rollback it went. First Ford ever I've had leave on a rollback. Dealer gave me a new Fusion and said two to three weeks. I literally almost gave up and traded it on a new Tundra. They have one transmission tech (same guy that already worked on it) and there is a 6 speed manual GT mustang ahead of me. 5th gear went out at 325 miles. Ford wouldn't authorize a replacement. It's guts were scattered on the workbench. So, I'm a bit shaken. Still a Ford guy (have 2 fox bodies, wife drives a 15 Expedition) but I am worried they will get mine right. It's a shame- I love my truck.
I'm not sure how I'd feel if it were a new one. I work in manufacturing. I do understand things fall outside if the norm. But I also understand the work that goes into service and customer satisfaction. I'm right now just going to wait them out. I do like my truck and have a year and a half left on my lease. I did plan on maybe buying it at lease end. Not so sure now.
