Mine's a stick 2wd, so I'm not sure. Most I've seen just pry off or one nut then pry off.

After removing everything I could see and then some I finally got the case out and now time to open her up. Anything I need to be aware of that may catch me off guard when I open it up? And what size is this torq head? Not one I have... thanks

Got her apart and one of rhe shifting forks were broke the chain was missing teeth and the pump was plugged and a snap ring was in pieces. I would say she was toast and not worth rebuilding. The truck is and 88 w/302 and automatic. going to look on craigslist for a transfer case. Will other transfer cases fit? Thanks Sean for your help
