Unhappy trailer tow power outlet

hi everyone, I have a problem with my trailer towing power plug, I have no 12v power to the plug, but turn signals brake and running lights all work, guy at RV dealership tested it and said I have no power to the 12v charge line, said it was probably a fuse but anyone have any idea which one, I don't see it listed in manual, looking and praying for an easy fix as my camper is ready and I can't get into ford repair shop for a couple weeks. help! I guess I should say it's a 2016 f150 with a 3.5 ecoboost

I'm pretty sure you need to add the trailer in the dash screen to enable the power to the trailer.

I've got a 2012 so can't be 100% with your 2016, but I had to insert a relay and fuse in the power distribution box under the hood. They were originally in a plastic bag in the passenger door along with a pigtail for adding a Brake Controller (mine wasn't built in). From another forum: "The relay goes in position #9 and the fuse goes in position #21."

Seems that I heard on a travel trailer forum that the trailer has to be connected and then enabled thru dash screen.

you need to set up the trailer in the info screen, connect the trailer and step on the brakes at least once before it will power that pin.

I recently bought the OEM trailer brake module, installed it, and updated the two required modules with Forscan and everything works great. I did however notice that the required fuse and relay are not installed. The bag in my glovebox has the pigtail you mentioned and the cover for the tailgate camera wires but no fuse or relay (the bag was opened however). Does anyone know where these can be purchased and perhaps the part numbers? My truck is a '16 XLT 5.0. Thanks in advance!

A 2016 doesn't need the fuse or relay. They stopped being required or included in 2015 with the introduction of the "smart trailer connector". The pigtail only allows a third party controller to be added more easily. You have the Ford unit.

Is stepping on the brakes valid for 2018’s too? I added the camper but I probably didn’t apply the brakes. I know the electric tongue wasn’t getting juice.
