Interesting comments...looks versus functionality and safety. I recommend the towing mirrors and chose the latter. Personally, I prefer the looks of the towing mirrors, but it did not sway my decision to install them. I grew up on a farm and started in evacuating work so towing mirrors were a necessity.

Also, you can swap with someone for the stock mirrors after the fact and make money in the transaction.

Yeah, this can be a case of function over form. Except I like the form as well, lol

Ok, Got them ordered. Also have ate dd the 360 camera when you get the tow mirrors. Should have the truck in about 2-3 months.... ugh.

I have read that the stock mirrors are not the best and I looked at some on the lot and they look really small. I never had any issues with the mirrors on my current FX4 but go big or go home i guess! lol. Thanks for the input guys!

As long as you don't park in a garage often, I would get them. I didn't and every time I tow, I kick myself.

Regrets, yes,
I regret that I did not check the tow mirrors box on the order form when I speced out my 2016.
It is expensive to add them after the fact.

I loved mine on my 2015 and my new 2021. Really great for parallel parking too as you can see your rt rear tire clearly.

The one drawback I’ve see as because of their size, looking to the right, they do create a good size blind spot on vehicles coming from the rt.

Even if I never towed another trailer ever again I’d never ditch my tow mirrors. They are as good for everyday driving as they are for towing. No blind spots with those huge convex mirrors on them.

I don’t tow and I like the tow mirrors on my 2018. They’re great for parking and seeing blind spots while driving. I live in a city and sometimes I worry they will get knocked off driving down super narrow streets. I just fold em in for those situations. I would never get them if I didn’t have power fold. Looks are subjective but I don’t think they look that bad.

I installed aftermarket ones last night (look like factory), and drove 160 highway miles today. I had blind spots on both sides. I finally realized the tow mirrors seem to have an angle to them. Figure that if stock are 90* from the window, tow are 75* or 80*. I might be wrong; I'll look again tomorrow. In any event, the stock mirrors had to be adjusted so I could just see the side of the truck to eliminate blind spots. That didn't work with the tow mirrors -- I had to adjust them more away from the side of the truck to capture the adjacent lane. I'll just have to play with them until I get it right.

Other than the blind spots, which I believe I can eliminate with trial and error, I really like the broader range of vision. They vibrate just a bit (factory ones probably don't), but not enough to cause any concern. Swapping them out was super easy.

I agree 100%!

I had tow mirrors on my 2009 FX4 and loved them. The only issue I had was back then there was no power fold option so I had to manually fold the driver side to park in my barn.

Now with my 2015 Lariat I have the standard mirror and really know what I am missing now. A huge blind spot. I have tried to depend on the blind spot notification thing which is just a tiny yellow spot on the mirror but just can't trust it. With the tow mirrors I had no blind spots at all without even moving my head.

Plus, being a truck driver by trade, I am used to being able to see my rear tires when I back up - while also seeing everything else. Just something I am used to for precision maneuvering when backing.

And all this without even talking about towing any trailers.
