titan vs lightning
I agree i always thought that rearend looked tiny. Alot of small miscelaneous stuff breaks inn them also. There was talk of putting a diesel in them for a while. I guess that idea is scrapped. On a better note YeeHaw for 2010 when they put a diesel in the new f150.
They arent going to though, they are just going to enter into a partnership with Chrysler in that Chrysler will build Nissan's fullsize trucks and Nissan will build small cars for Chrysler.
I guess it makes sense for both. Nissan cant build a decent fullsize truck and they want to use Dodge for their fullsize truck building expertise (not sure Id call a Dodge Ram a, "decent" truck though...) and Chrysler cant seem to build a good small car, so they are going to use Nissan's expertise in building small, fuel-efficient cars.
Nissan would be better off puting a rearend out of a ranger than going to dodge. My brother in-laws rearend went out last week on his dodge and we went to and called numerous salvage yards trying to find a replacement and they were all gone. We are going to just part out the truck and find something else. It doesn't make sense when the titan is 3rd from the bottom in reliability and they have the 4th from the bottom build their truck for them.

I agree with you about the rearends in the Rangers. Before I had my F-150, I had a '99 Ford Ranger and that thing has an 8.8" rearend in it. That Ranger was one tough little truck.
