Running 50 psi in your tires might not be a good idea. Is that hot or cold pressure? You will probably shorten the life of your tires doing that, not to mention the affects on braking and handling. Good luck in your quest.

What does, "for these trucks" mean?

Any time you put over size wheels and tire on, you will cause the fuel mileage to get worse. With larger wheels and tires you have more weight and a larger mass to turn which will take more power.

I have never seen a truck get fuel mileage as good as the truck did when completely stock after putting over size wheels and tires on.

By these trucks, I mean gas half tons. If you have the torque to do it, the truck won't really notice the tire size change. Look at diesel 3/4 tons I know plenty of guys who got upped their mileage in their Duramaxes after upping the tire size a bit. Also know a few with Cummins who have done the same and one or two who have had slight improvements with PSDs. For instance, running a stock Duramax on stock tires and 4.10 gears, most people get 20 mpg, friends of mine have gone 22 mpg with slightly oversized tires. Just like how people with stock Common Rail Cummins and 4.10 gears get about 27 mpg while my father's on slightly oversized tires gets about 29. These are all highway speeds. Once the big diesels get rolling the closer you keep the engine speed to peak torque (usually about 1600 rpm) the better mileage the engines get, especially after they hit 100K miles and are actually broke in.

Gas half tons just don't output the torque to do that at low enough engine speeds. The next size up,will affect the truck no matter what. For instance, on the diesels, they burn more fuel getting up to speed, but if you never stop...they do great.

but right now get 19.5 just broke that today on my commute Just put a cap on it and looking to see if it makes thatmuch of a difference
My buddy runs a 2010 5.0 RWD and he gets 21.0

Note:I lock cruise control in at 69 MPH and leave it there until of the freeway it tachs @ 1800
