I also have experienced the IWE issue... Very disappointing for a brand new 60k truck. The truck has been in and out the dealership's garage a few times this winter, and they ended up telling me they couldn't do anything unless they be able to replicate the grinding noise, which occurs randomly and of course never when it's in their hands.
I told them I would let it grind until the IWE hub is completely shot. They told me it might not be covered. I almost screamed at the service guy and told him I would certainly not start bringing it 1x per week. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time for that. The point of buying a new vehicle is for the peace of mind that comes with it. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Ford has some weird love for vacuum operated systems. No one else still uses a vacuum operated 4X4 system. Ford was the last manufacturer to use vacuum operated wipers and vacuum operated HVAC systems.

Wasn't Ford the one that used vacuum operated door locks that locked the doors when going through a car wash? The right front was quiet this morning when I tried 4A. Wonder if water got in it yesterday when I forded a river called County Line Road.
