I never lock mine. I didn’t know tailgate theft was a thing.
Now you know.

Locking your doors also locks the tailgate, correct?

Depends on the model and trim.

Using the one I linked (or one like it) keeps it locked to the truck regardless of year, trim, doors, or even if the t/g is open.

What trim doesn't? Why wouldn't work trucks want locks as standard equipment?

Ford nickles, dimes, and pennys everything and it's getting worse I swear...🙄😒

Plus it can't be taken off with just a screw driver like the worm clamp can.

LMAO at this. You should go read the threads where people bitch and moan because they get out of their truck and the tailgate is locked because they are too stupid to hit the unlock button on the way out. And that they never want the tailgate to lock "because it's a work truck and my stuff needs to be accessible both to me and others."

No matter what option is put on a truck, 50% of the people bitch and 50% of the people praise. I added Pop N Lock to my 2013 so that the tailgate unlocks when I unlock my doors.

I put this kind on mine 7 years ago
https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-Tailgate-Stainless-8253DAT/dp/B007OSL3DY/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=tailgate+lock&qid=1563296556&s=gateway&sr=8-3 https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-Tailgate-Stainless-8253DAT/dp/B007OSL3DY/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=tailgate+lock&qid=1563296556&s=gateway&sr=8-3
but I still lock the key cylinder out of habit.
