I'm a bit confused why you didn't post pics of what you got. But '80-96 taillights don't have any wiring - they just have holes for the bulb holders to twist-lock into, and those holders are hard-wired to the harness.

You should put ALL the truck's details & history (as much as you know) into your signature as this page explains:

Phone apps don't always show signatures, so you may need to switch to a real browser in desktop mode on your phone, or just use a desktop/laptop computer. Put your location in your profile & upload an avatar of the truck.

...and you bought some that didn't come with instructions? And you're still not posting pics of them or their wiring? There are 4 wires for each taillight: Bk is return/ground (to each bulb); Br is park; Bk/Pk is reverse; and the other is brake/turn. Study this page & the NEXT several:

Ok..been busy and not online for awhile. Figured out twilights and installed. Just different than the 81 I did many years back. Sorry for no response. all I have left to do is interior and finding a irritating front end squeaking noise🥴.

They're uploaded, but they're not "posted" until we can see them in your posts. We can't yet. Click the image icon above the text field.
