Default SUPER 44s---LET DOWN

I have a 2001 4.6l f150 SISO, with a K&N intake. Recently bought a flow master super 44 muffler to get the "aggressive, deep, and loud" sound that everyone says you get with a super 44. Just put it in. I thought flowmasters were supposed to be loud, but these things make magnaflows sound like cherry bombs. Waste of $80. Realize I don't have the biggest engine, but wow, what a let down.

Give it time to wear in, they get louder over time.

Yea I just installed one on mine about a month ago and it for sure sounds better now than it did new. However, don't expect it to be crazy loud where people from a mile away hear you coming. The are much louder exhausts out there but this one has a nice humble rumble that won't annoy your neighbors.

I know how you feel. I had true dual 40's put on a few days ago and I was greatly disappointed. Granted I had straight pipes to begin with so I was used to the loudness. I knew it would be quieter but its way quieter than I expected. I have all the cats still on so I'm thinking they might start finding their way to the scrap yard soon.

Yea, I just heard so much good things about them they were a big letdown. And id be right with you on throwing out the cats if i didn't have to worry about emissions

Yeah I have no emissions in my area so I'm good on that. I'm going tomorrow to just have the rear cats cut off to start. Then if its still not loud enough I'll go ahead and get rid of the other two. This setup has such a good deep smooth sound to it. All it needs is to be louder.

Update on the exhaust: had the rear cats removed and it sounds absolutely amazing! Has an amazing deep rumble to it.
