The first step is to take off your tail light ether side up to you on which side you want to flag to be on. Drop the tail gate two bolts hold in on. Takes those off and pull back i thinks its three snaps that keep it in place.

The truck has holes that are on the inside of the bed you can see when you drop your tailgate, i think they are used for the fold up tail gates. Using the holes as a guide, drill two holes a little bigger than your bolts in the PVC the same distance apart. Then from the inside of the PVC put your bolts in so the head is on the inside and the thread is on out side. I used a telescopic magnet to put mine in.

And now put the big washer on using the gap where the tail light goes, then the lock washer and last the wing nut to make it tight. Put the light back on, be careful the nut go into plastic retainers i think.

Thats it. it took me about 5 mins to take off and show you. When i get off work today i will show you the pole that slides in and locks in place with the quick pins and how i attach the flag.
So this is kind of sloppy but when i have a chance i will put up a how to video in the how to section. My buddy wants me to make one for his truck also. Hard to find time i have been working min. 60 hours a week.

Well upon inspection of my bed I don't have holes near the taillight. I've been throwing around the idea of mounting it between the cab and the bed with a PVC pipe bolted into the bed and wing nuts to hold the pole in. But I'm not sure I want to drill any holes but also not sure if there are any holes to use. I have a '99 so if anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks

Bought a wooden flag pole and a metal adjustable mount to put on my toolbox. That setup worked great when I had my Ranger.

my freind has a 5 x 3.5 or so foot one that he took a rod and welded it to a square tube to go into his receiver hitch and welded a wrench at an angle for extra support. so he can just slid it in and out of his hitch
