I need to replace the bed on my 77 f-150 and i like the look of the stepsides, but my trucks a long bed. I was wondering if anyone has extended a stepside box to fit a long bed? any hints or tips would help

 

I thought they had stepside longbed boxes too, but I might be thinking of something else. I don't see where it would be too difficult since the floor is wood. Just weld two boxes together and bolt on the fenders.

 

or get a regular long bed and bolt the fenders on, make it a dually if i had the money, i would.

 

yeah i did some more digging and it seems they did make a longbed stepside, i guess they're just harder to find

 

the box itself was the same from 1956-86 so all you gotta do is find a long narrow box in that range, theyll be easeier to find off older trucks
