Default Steering/axle issues

Good afternoon all,
New member here looking for some advice. In February I purchased a 2008 F150 Fx4 Supercrew from a Canadian fellow. Long story short, he bought it new for his business and business is doing well so he upgraded to a new F150, due to liking them so much. I bought it with about 135,000 mostly highway miles on it. He said it was in great shape, had it inspected w/papers to prove it but did state that when going over 70 mph it starts to vibrate a bit. This was not a big deal but I did notice it when driving it home.

Fast forward a couple months and I noticed that after going freeway speeds for more than 10 or so miles it starts giving me problems. There isn't an issue when I'm going freeway speeds(other than the previously stated issue), but after pulling off the freeway into the city and stopping/accelerating I have a problem. As I accelerate from a stop (and especially when I'm turning from a stop) my truck shakes very violently until I straighten out or hit about 10 mph.

I've taken it to my mechanic but apparently didn't drive it long enough before handing it over to him because he couldn't recreate the problem. He did find that I was leaking fluid from rack/pinion boot so he thought it could have been attributed to that. I ordered the part and replaced it myself, which it needed because there was a ton of rocks/grime in the gears, but alas the problem remained.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or have any idea what it could be caused by? Like I said it's only after i travel a significant distance or reach freeway speeds for a few miles, if I'm in town driving around there's no issue.
Thanks for all the help!

HINT/TIP: You'll find posting in the
Late Model F150s > 2004 - 2008 Ford F150
section more helpful/appropriate than General F150 Discussion posts.

Comment: You indicate "taken it to my mechanic", however, how thorough was the suspension and driveline inspection? You may want to consider taking it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion.
