Haha interesting. I hope the solution to my problem is that easy and inexpensive

This happened with my 2010 XLT. My own fault, I used to fill it too much and had to replace the fuel canister purge valve. Good news is, it's a very easy fix. I changed it in the parking lot and learned a valuable lesson

Essentially what happened, was when I was filling up my tank I would put a little more in after it would click off. I guess it was overflowing into the purge valve. I may not be 100% on the names of things. But the part that was shown on page one of this thread is the part that gets fouled up. I think it is called a evaporation canister.

My truck would be really hard to start every time I would put fuel in. It got to the point that I was not even filling it up all the way and it would still take some time to start. Before I replaced the part, it started stalling when I would slow down for a stop light.

Hope this helps. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions, or keep this post running.

Thanks
TC

Same thing happened to me. My 2012 F-150 3.7L would shudder after every fill up. I tried the Evap canister purge valve first since it was only $35 and very easy to access( 5 mins to replace). This did the trick. No more shuddering after fill up and the check engine light with code P0456(Evaporative emissions system small leak detected) has not returned. Now I can get this thing smogged!

Just recently, the check engine light has also come on but only when I'm about 100-140 miles to empty and then it will turn off.

I took it in to my trusted shop, and they said they wouldn't be able to diagnose it unless the check engine light was on (it wasn't at the time). My guy said he believes it has to do with the emissions control in the fuel tank, err or something along those lines.

I plan on taking it into the dealership next week, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been having this problem and if so, could you please tell me what's going on? And what you had to do to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.
I believe I'm replying quite late on this. You're not crazy. My 2018 is doing the samething. As a matter of fact, the battery drains quicker than it's recharged as you pile up on short trips. I've read where others use battery maintenance boxes to overcome this because if you don't do it, you'll be stranded. Not a well thought out feature if you ask me. Ford was more eager to please the government mandates than the owners. By the way is your truck only getting 10.3 local and 11.2 highway? Mine is and what a joke is is everytime I fill up.
