Default Speed Limited

My 2018 F150 XLT Extended Cab 2.7 Eco Boost pegs out at 103 MPH. Is there a way to turn off Speed Limiter? I called my local Ford Dealer asking if they can turn limiter off and they told me they cannot. I don't understand why the truck won't keep going in 10th Gear up to the RPM Red Line.

Trucks are limited too 100 to 105 mph.

You don't have a reason to be going that fast..

Well for one, no way these trucks have enoughpush to get to redline in 10th..

Second of all, driving fast in overrdrive gears is stupid..

Third... Do we really need to say why you can't, and why a dealership wouldn't?

Congratulations on bumping into the speed limiter.

True story but I will paraphrase because I can’t quote the article exactly as it was a long time ago…

A New York Times reporter did a ride along with a Montana State Trooper where there was no speed limit.

They are sitting there and a Porsche or whatever goes blowing by at 140 miles an hour and the cop just sat there drinking his coffee.

Later, an old beat up K-car or something goes by at 80 and the cop pulls the guy over.

The reporter asked the cop why he was ok with 140 miles an hour but not ok with 80?

The cop says something to the effect that the Porsche can handle 140 no problem, but an old KCar can’t handle 80.

In this story, you are driving the equivalent of an old K Car.

Its a pickup, not a Mustang.

Yes.
Not sure you would get your money's worth out of paying a tuner to do so..
..................... ( a dealership isn't allowed to do that )

I believe my limiter might be defeated by my tune, but even so, with the way my truck is set up, 100 mph plus is just stupid, unless I'm set up for the strip.
