So why did you choose an F150?

I had a 2001 Expy that I had for 13 years and was the best truck I owned. Also had a 03 F250 (couldn't afford due to Triton V10) and a 97 F150 before. Went back to Ford and glad I did.

Out of the big 3, I felt it was the better truck to suit my needs at the time. Nice body style and amenities. We'll see what happens after the 2019 GM and Rams come out. They're stepping up.

I was going to go with the GMC. Then smacked myself in the back of the head and said, "what the hell is wrong with you." Then made my way to the Ford dealer like a good truck owner should. :-P

Ti-VCT Just Kicked In Yo!
The Nissan Titan is the only other 1500 with an extended cab model, but it's not even comparable to the F-150.

While I don't consider myself to necessarily be brand loyal, I have almost always ended up in a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicle.
When I was a teenager many moons ago, I had an early 70's Toyota P/U ( huge ugly blinkers on top of hood) and an 80 or 81? Nissan Diesel extended cab P/U (slow as a snail but a nice truck) . The Nissan was a hand me down from my father, and I bought the Toyota when I was 16.
Other than that I have since had 1 77-T-bird with a 400M, One 83 2dr Grand Marquis (bought it literally from a little old lady who never drove it. It was too good to pass up, floated like a Lincoln Town car) and 4 f150's, I have looked at Toyota,Dodge and Chevy's in the past and tried to shop around different brands and be open minded, but i always come back to the Fords. I just feel like they are either a nicer product, or you get more for your money.

Easy one. RAM didn't/doesn't offer a Sport pkg. with the center console shifter or a tailgate step..
Plus i liked the looks of the '16 F150 better than the '16 RAMs.

I had 3 Ranger’s over the course of 5 years that all basically all died when they hit 160-170k miles, and then a Frontier that lasted me 11 years of riding it hard and hanging it up wet and was still going strong at 190k miles so I thought I was pretty set in getting another Nissan or even Toyota. When my wife got pregnant with our 3rd kid, I knew my Frontier was no longer going to cut it so I started looking to replace it with a full sized before our son was born. I needed something to fit 3 kids, two still in carseats, in the back seat.
I should say too that I always buy used, typically something 1-2 years old. I’d rather drive an almost new truck with some options over a new truck that’s pretty basic. I liked the new Titan, but ruled it out due to being a first model year and no used trucks available. I ruled out the Tundra since it was already a 10+ year old design. Ram was out, because from what I’ve seen it’s a real crapshoot if you’ll get something that lasts 3 years or 10 years. GM through the past couple decades has been pure crap IMO, but I actually like the style of the current trucks and I believed they were turning their quality around so I drove a few Sierra’s and Silverado’s. After several test drives I discovered I liked them a lot too, but ended up passing because the 2014-15’s that were in my price range were known for horrible headlights, and living in the country that was something I didn’t want to deal with. That left the F150. I liked the 2015’s and newer that I drove, but only the 2015’s were in my price range and I refused to own a first model year truck. I drove a couple 2013’s and 14’s, and while I didn’t care for them as much decided that they’ll do. There’s nothing the truck does poorly, there’s just a lot of things from the other trucks I liked better. I find the 2015+ F150’s interior more comfortable and the handling better. I find the handling far better on the 2014-2017 Silverado/Sierra’s too, and REALLY like that the bed rails are several inches lower, making it much more usable as a truck. After having a Silverado as a rental for a few days earlier this year it really made me question my choice of trucks.
But, my 2014 does every it needs to and do still like it. I plan on keeping it for 10 years after which I’m not sure what I’ll do. I might go back to a midsized, I miss the smaller size on country roads and REALLY miss something that I can take off-road on trails. This thing is just too wide to fit through the trees on a lot of trails.

Compared the F150 with the Ram and Sierra 1500's. I liked the exterior of the Sierra a lot but when I was looking at them I always came back and compared them to the F150 and it was always my first choice. The aluminum bed, interior, auto cruise, 360 camera, tailgate step, LED headlights/taillights, and interior room. I feel like its the best option out of the big 3 and don't see myself in anything else. The new RAM limited does look really nice though.
