The Hammer
It looks like that because that's what it is. Same platform as a Pilot, Passport, and Odyssey minivan. I can't get over the styling. It's curvaceous up front and then square in the back. Looks like a frankentruck to me, but I'm sure it rides nice.

The Ridgeline has some nice features but it's ugly as sin, the Ranger is meh, not a fan of the front end but that 4 cylinder EB will eat the Tacomas lunch in performance. The Taco is the best looking midsize out right now though. I'm sure it will be a good truck for you, congrats.

The Ranger is technically not a new platform since its existed south of the border and other countries for years. And it doesn't boast anything particularly amazing that separates it from competitors other than the engine. Then of course like almost all mid size trucks, the price isn't as attractive as it could be.

look at trucks like the Nissan Nivara and the toyota trucks overseas....all better looking IMO. Course, the Frontier is going on what, 15 years since a re-do? That being said, mid-size trucks all over the world have diesels too. But our emissions restrictions make small diesels wholly impractical for manufacturers to try to meet....that and a 200hp diesel with 400ft-lbs in a mid-size truck doesn't 'feel' fast, so untrained Americans don't like it.
i like the ranger. I think the price is batty....but full size truck prices are just as crazy.
