Default Shortbed Regular Cab 2.7L thoughts?

Hey everyone,

I'm considering getting a regular cab short bed with the 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engine. I’m primarily looking for a daily driver with decent performance and a bit of modding potential. I'm not aiming for anything extreme, just something fun to drive.

For those of you who own or have experience with the 2.7L, what are your thoughts? How does it perform for daily use, and what’s the towing capacity like if I ever need it?

Also, I’m debating between 4x4 and RWD. What do you think would be the better option for my needs?

Thanks for your input!

Needs and preferences vary, but I’d never buy a regular cab, a short (5.5) bed, nor a 2wd.

You don’t say what you’ll tow, but if you plan on towing boats and using various ramps/locations, I’d also want a 4x4 (regardless of your winters).

There are 2 options available 2022 2.7L V6 Regular cab XL RWD or 2021 2.7L V6 Regular XLT 4WD. Im looking into getting a daily driver but also want a truck that can pick up speed and get mods done here and there something similar to the 5.0 but without the v8 ( I would definitely get a 4wd in a 5.0 no questions asked) but should I in the 2.7L if I won’t be towing but do want that extra 4x4 power

If you want a vehicle to mod, I would just buy a car. A stock 2024 GT mustang will outrun a roushcharged F150.. Just sayin'.

(thats gonna make a few people upset)

Mainly doing it for the looks, I love the look of the regular cab f150 with a 3/5 drop kit, want a daily driver that can also pick up when I floor it
