Default scary situation

so i was driving down the road behind a slow fing truck, merged into the next lne with full throttle and the gas pedal got stuck on the carpet. i was scared $h1tless. there i was braking trying to get the throttle unstuck. took a few seconds but i got it. thank god no one was in front of me or els the outcome would have resulted in major cotastrophe. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I don't think I've heard of that happening on here but I would get that checked out ASAP. That's too dangerous to be driving like that.

I took care of it, i took out the extra catch all carpet floorboard mat. thats what the gas petal got stuck on. i was just wondering if this has happened to anybody else or if they have heard of this happening, and to warn people to take out the floor mat to prevent it from happening to them.

Fortunately, I haven't heard from anyone yet but you. That situation could make anyone staring blankly on what's gonna happen next

Glad you and the truck are okay. Could have been a lot worse. That happened to me a long time ago in a Mustang I used to have. Picked it up from the mechanic and the throttle return spring came off and it stuck wide open. Turned the key off but I was so used to pushing the button to turn the key back that the steering locked and I was trying to turn so hard I couldn't turn the key forward again. Ended up in the center of the road and I left the car there and walked back the 100 yards to the mechanic and screamed for awhile. That was when I decided to never let anyone work on my stuff again.

Never heard of that happening before, but glad to hear that you and your truck are fine.

i hve had this happen to my truck a few times. i would stab the throttle and it would stick for about a second and then "clunk" back to neutral. it would even do it when i would goose the throttle in park just to hear the flowmaster. it also does it sometimes when i take it out of cruise control. if i pump the gas a few times with the engine off, it goes away but the other day it did it when i hit the brake to turn off CC. the truck reacted as if i was going up a hill and downshifted, causing my to go even faster. i was pounding on the "OFF" button for CC and it finally turned off. i came very close to turning the key off
