Default Rock fell in Engine

I have a '79 F-150 with a 300 straight 6. I brushed a pebble into my engine block when I was changing my valve cover gasket. How can I get it out? Will it drop down to the oil pan? Should I try to get it out with a little grab tool? Any suggestions will help.

Your luck sounds like mine brother. And as djfllmn says, you need to get that rascal out of there.

if you just start the engine, your truck will probably just poop it out at the tail pipe...

or not.

good luck, that sounds like something I could have done...

I dropped a bolt thru a lifter hole in a 69 olds cutlass... sort of the same (oh ****) moment. I rolled the dice and started it and never had a problem. on the other hand, it could have caused a lot of damage.. I got lucky...also motors were cheap back then...late 70's
good luck

Default Now what?

So I have tried a shop-vac with a small hose that fits in to the 3/8 inch hole and I tried to use a grab tool. Should I attempt to remove the cylinder head?

Also, does anyone have a picture or video showing the connections for all the vacuum houses? I think mine are all screwed up or the previous owner plugged the wrong nipples.

Thanks!
