You really need to take the truck on a long test drive and find as many different surfaces as possible. My 2014 (so a completely different truck) with 20's is pretty darned comfortable on smooth pavement, but on older highways with cracks every 40 feet it can get pretty annoying because you certainly feel every single one. Handling still isn't that great, but then again I'm coming from a midsized truck that had stellar handling (for a truck).

I've got a 2012 Harley Davidson edition with the 22" wheels and I've experienced nothing but a smooth ride on the highway. I've gone from the OEM Pirelli tires too Cooper and now Michelin and the Michelins are by far the smoothest.
