Hey if you got the time and money and want to jump into it. God Bless You. No one he is going to throw a fit or a punch if you want to rip into your tailgate.
As far as tire presser...I run my 17"s hard 44psi , max presser. Others are softee's..35-36 psi. Take pics of your project of course.

I'll update on progress after I get the parts.

I believe it requires spot welding the inner structure into your existing tailgate requiring a repaint.

Big $$ expense.....
You might find one the same color as your truck here used.....

Yep I bought the step parts but eventually decided it was too much trouble. Then I traded the truck for a Jeep Wrangler....a lot more fun and no step to worry about!

Thanks for all of your help.

That certainly is one way to tackle the issue !!
I remember the original post and thought it would not be anywhere near worth the effort, but managed to keep my mouth shut (rare). Hope you're enjoying the Jeep.

OPer, both non-tail gate and tail gates are totally different which you already know.

I agree anything is possible with enough money, tools and motivation
But i think you're in for a disappointment, maybe i'll end up being wrong..
Anyhow if you try it let us know what happens.
