I'm talking from experience with a taurus but if memory serves the cruise set up is similar... Disconnect the battery first and wait 15 min before starting. You will need to remove the airbag by taking out the two bolts on the back of the steering wheel. That is why you need to disconnect and wait. Better than an airbag blowing off in your face. Then it should just be two screws holding the switch in place and one plug. Be sure everything is hooked up proper before reconnecting battery. Best of luck.

Just to be clear, it's recommended to remove BOTH positive and negative before working on the air bag system.

You only have to do that if you are replacing the wires too. If it is just the switch, they snap in out out. Too Easy!!!

I would also pull any fuses for the air bag just for extra insurance.
