Default Replacing a 2011 3.5 ecoboost with a new engine.

Hey just wondering if anyone knows where to get a remanufactured 3.5 ecoboost with all the latest updates. Ive found a company called Fraser Engine Rebuilders Inc. Seems like a decent deal because they offer 3-5 year no fault warranty and if i buy the Fraser Advantage package it is around $6500-$7000 with me keeping my core. Thats shipping, installation kit, and all that stuff. Installation kit has water pump, oil pump, and everything. Has anyone dealt with these guys and if so are they good engines? They say the advantage package engine comes with every update ford has issued. Thats the phasers update from 2020 or 2018 and the valve update also among others. Im hoping i can get this truck rolling again for less than $12000. Thats including a good set of turbos and CAC. I ended up getting almost 300,000 miles out of my engine so im happy with that. I just hope to get close to that from this next one. The two companies im looking at right now are Fraser and Powertrain Products. Any info or feedback on them would be greatly appreciated.

Caveat Emptor.

Iput in 14 years with the USPS, & they supplied the fleet of Grumman LLV`s & FFV`s (the mail delivery trucks) with engines. I never heard of many complaints from the garage at my facility. YMMV

That’s good news. My issue has really been just being able to get one. Most shops have told me it could take up to 6 months to get an engine. Fraser acts like they can ship it out pretty quick. I’m waiting to hear back now. Thanks for the reply

Default Uh Oh!

Well after reading all the horror stories on that BBB review page I believe I’ll steer clear of Fraser. Good grief at the terrible reviews! Wow how are they still in business? It’s unreal at some of the experiences I’ve read about!

Are you doing the work yourself? Have you priced out Ford directly? I'd be curious to see what they are charging compared to others. I see some service long blocks for the 3.5L turbo going for ~8000.

I think one of the hardest things there is to do in life is come up with a good cool username for stuff like this lol. The struggle is no joke!

No sir my local ford dealership recently went out of business during covid but the still service all the vehicles they sold and they take random vehicles that just need fixing. That’s who has the truck right now and they can’t get an engine for 6 months! They quoted me around $9700 for new engine with all the installation doodads! I would go that route if it wasn’t for the 6 month wait just to get the engine. I’m almost desperate right now so I may have them tear into mine to see if it can be rebuilt or something. I really don’t know. Powertrain products seems legit but I am scared after reading all the negative reviews on Fraser and they are in kahoots with each other I think. Not sure

Lots of used engines available. Maybe scoop one up and get it rebuilt? Probably be a bit of a lead time still, but might be sooner.

Default Update on my buid

So i had my mechanic (at the old Ford Dealership that shut down during Covid) look into jasper and ford again to see if they might could get us a new engine sooner than the 4-5 months they told us a couple months ago and turns out ford can send us a new engine within the next couple of days they say. So I bought it and should be delivered tomorrow or Monday. That being said let me go over what all I’m doing and you guys chime in with pointers and advice please.
1.) Brand new Long Block from Ford (who knows where it actually comes from idk)
2.) CRP ported Manifolds from stage 3
3.) UPR radiator mounted dual valve catch can
4.) Full Race high mount intercooler (moves intercooler up behind the grill so I can install a winch and not restrict air flow.
5.) AMS Turbine adapters
6.) BD Diesel Screamer Turbos that supposedly doesn’t require a tune however I’m still going to tune it.
7.) still undecided on brand but I’m buying an exhaust system as soon as I find one that won’t turn my truck into a pissed off bumble bee!!! Quieter the better for me I just want it to flow better than factor or why else would I upgrade the manifolds?
8.) going to go ahead and add a new torque converter and fly wheel while the engine is out and cab is off the frame.

is there anything you guys strongly suggest I do while the cab is off the truck frame? I see no reason is building the transmission right now. I know it’s got 285,000 miles on it but it performs well and until it peters out I think it’s fine! I’m gonna go ahead and apologize if I’m slow to respond but I’m a business owner and I hardly have time to stay on the internet so I’ll check back as soon as I can for replies. Thanks everyone
