The person who put my engine together painted it, unfortunately he's an idiot and painted some surfaces that should not be painted.

What is the easiest way to remove the paint? I really don't care what it looks like as long as I can get it running again.

The area I need to clean is the gasket area where the oil filter bypass bolts to the 5.4 engine. It's already in the truck so space for removing the paint is an issue.

Acetone should do it. Wear a proper mask and no sparks, very flammable.
