Initial thoughts on F150
Hello All, I just purchased a 2023 F150 Tremor. I am coming from a 2023 GMC 1500 AT4 3.0 diesel. I moved to the Ford because the turbo actuator failed and 4 injectors failed on the GMC. The GMC is still in the shop waiting on parts for over 2 months. I wanted to share my initial thoughts on the 2 vehicles. I drove the F150 from Kansas to Colorado for about 600 miles and only got 15MPG at 78 MPH at 1900RPM on I70. Slight cross wind from north to south at 5-10mph.
F150 Pros:
Seating comfort(very comfortable for 8hr drive)
Ride comfort/quality
Touch screen interface
Torque and power
Auto dimming headlights(very responsive)
GMC Pros:
Interior fit and finish
Stereo clarity and accuracy
Fuel mileage (25MPG easy on highway)

Thanks for the report. Am considering when/if to replace my 2011 200k+ 3.5 Ecoboost and was wondering how the Tremor package impacts fuel economy. And long trip comfort. I’d expect 16 MPG at 80 MPH without the cross wind, so 15 in cross wind with a taller truck sounds good to me.
Did you try out driver aids like lane keep, cruise, or blue cruise? I am curious how well those work too.

The lane assist aid is lame. You have to drive with hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 the or the system will complain and warn you. It does an excellent job keeping you in the lane, its just that when I am driving long distances I usually have my left hand only on the top of the wheel. The adaptive cruise is nice and both GMC and Ford behave the same.

I just drove down to St George UT from SLC, which is almost all 80mph freeway. My 2014 3.5L got 14.9 AVG round trip on 315/70R17's takeoffs from a Bronco, which run narrower than a typical 315/70.

I would expect the truck to loosen up over time. My F150 took about 5000 miles before it really was getting decent MPG. about 1000 miles after I bought it I drove from MA to UT and averaged like 13 mpg bone stock but now I can't get that low without towing.
