Default Remote start not working

Now that its getting cold out, its time to use the remote start. My remote start is not working. I tried both fobs, but no dice. Before I go back to the dealer, I'm wondering if there is something I can check here at home first. Is there something I have to enable before the start will work.

If it's the factory 1 on the key I believe you have to lock the doors and hit the remote start twice

It is the factory one. I forgot to mention that in my post.
I followed the starting procedure as you say, but no go.

Yes, that works fine, even from inside the house.

When you press lock and then press the start button twice do you get a horn honk? If so go pop your hood and unplug the switch located midway on the driver side front fender and plug it back in, make sure the hood closes completely and retry.

I don't get a honk when doing that, but I'll try the plug anyway & see what happens.

There are 2 plugs, a large one & a smaller one just below it. Which one should I unplug/plug?

When my remote start failed it was due to the truck battery dying.
It eventually failed even to go with the key in the ignition.

If you choose to take the dealer route, tiresmoke, I'll escalate this to a regional customer service manager for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, current mileage, and best daytime contact number. I'll get started right away!
