Default Remote Start

Hey guys,
I was tinkering around on the motor today cleaning and noticed i have this sticker that says warning equiped with a remote start use caution when changing the battery, or something off those lines i will go back out and take a picture of it in a little. That being said, i have the regular lock/unlock key fob for my 05 fx4. Is there a way I can check to see if there is already a remote start set up on my truck? If there is one on the truck would i be able to get a new fob from ford or different place? or would i have to pull out that one and replace with a new kit? And with a new kit will it remove the stock key fob function or anything along those lines?
Thanks!

If you look under the dash on the driver side you would see some sort of module wired into the ignition harness of the truck or even connected directly to the OBD2 connector.

Are there any direct markings or anything saying its a remote start or just a black box so to say. I have seen what the ones in the kits look like. I have also seen that they place them on the passenger side too.

Ya have a look under the dash and look for something that doesnt belong or look factory. You can try and press the lock button 3 times on your factory remote too. If theres one in there, youll have to get a brand name off of the main unit and find a remote for it. Another thing too is look for a hood pin.

there is a pin located under the hood that will shut the system off if the hood is opened while it is in start mode. its a safety precaution. the system will work without the pin installed though.

if there is a product number on the back of the unit just go to amazon and type the number in, it will bring the unit up, then search for a single key fob. chances are youll have to find the manual to program the key fob.

just noticed the sticker, its not going to be a factory remote start unit. its a DIRECTED product (python/viper) good units, depending on the model the remote could run you maybe $50-$150 lol
