I agree I think it should have a 5.5 bed. It'd look dumb with 8 ft of *** end. but then again I am not a fan of long beds.

 

nothing wrong with a regular cab. there are always a few on lots locally. of course not as many as scabs and screws.

If you don't have the extra need for a bigger truck, why buy one?

 

They get the same gas mileage and are a little more comfortable
I just went from my 99 reg cab to a 08 supercrew, didnt really want a supercrew but they didnt have any nice supercabs

 

They are hard to find and ones equipped above 'fleet models' bring seem to bring a premium price.

 

This was my problem, I wanted a stripped truck. I just didn't want white. I ended up just ordering exactly what i wanted.

 

I like the regular cabs. I have a 4X4 King Ranch super crew I drive on the highway and to the ranch. I wanted something to commute with in Dallas that was simpler and did not let me horde so much in the interior. I bought a basic regular cab F150 I drive around town and like a lot for that. It is no shorter than my King Ranch (I got an 8' bed on the standard cab) but it has better visibility (I have a Leer on the back of the KR). I enjoy driving what I would consider a "real pickup" most of the time. I keep 2 trucks and a car in Dallas and when I added the std cab this year and got rid of the extra Lincoln I had NEVER had a person in the back seat the entire time I owned it. My dog had ridden in then back - he seems to prefer to be chauffeured (wants to ride in the back seat of the KR also!

 

I would LOVE to have a super cab, for the added passenger space if needed, plus the length of the scab/6' bed really isnt all that hateful.
BUT, I hate the suicide doors. cant stand them one bit for parking lot loading, and the added stress and potential for squeaks and rattles later on in the trucks life because of no B-pillar and the lesser structural integrity. so that makes me want a screw, but I just cant stand the idea of the 5.5' bed. its just too small for my lifestyle.

but when push came to shove, I really only NEED a reg cab (its just me & the wife with no plans for kids any time soon).
the payment is where I wanted to be for comfort, its not overly huge to park, and its got the perfect size bed for the hauling I do.

 

Honestly here in Cincinnati I don't remember seeing any new regular cabs at all only regular cabs I see are 9th gen and lower... I think that they are on the way out since now a lot of people even go with the extended cab even if they don't need the extra seats they still fold them up and store stuff in the cab if it's real pricey materials or whatever.
my dad has a 2011 silverado (SMH) and he doesn't even need the spots since like 2005 I haven't rode with him, but he still keeps expensive stuff in the back like his welder and craftsman toolboxes. I think regular cabs are on the way out, just my 2 cents

 

Mine is... Decently new?? Lol it's a 2005, I'm 16 so it's the perfect size truck for me. And the extra cab space on the 04-08 is the perfect room for my jl 12's

 

I love the space in mine. Everything I kept in the back of my '94 extended cab fits behind the seats of my regular cab. Ford has done a great job of putting plenty of space behind the seats of the regular cabs. Chevy and Dodge do not have nearly the space.
I do agree with a previous poster though. The regular cabs will stay, just will get more basic. Used to be able to get regular cab in Lariat, now the highest you can go is XLT. I always see XL work truck regular cabs on the lots, but never see STX or XLT. I had to order mine.
