Default Red Paint Job

So I just bought my truck a couple days ago and I'm telling anyone who will listen all about it. But when I tell them what color it is, red, they always give me a weird look or some comment. Am I missing something? I think it's awesome, but is there some inside joke about red trucks I'm not getting?

yea people call it: arrest me red . cuz supposedly cops are more likely to ticket or arrest drivers in red cars for some reason..

but lots of people dont really like red for some reason, my trucks red, i didnt really have a choice we bought it used but its alright, i dont mind it. ive never really had anyone say anything about it though. but truck color all comes down to personal choice, whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, I bought mine used also, I didn't really have much choice. My dad had a truck the same color red, so I didn't see it as a big deal. I like it.

I have a friend who is married to a police officer, I'll see if she can get some info on that.

Thanks guys.

I always get compliments. I think there are just so many shades of red that maybe it just doesn't register or maybe they think of the pre-clear coat days where red turned to ugly if not taken care of. Granted, it is a bold color choice and I wouldn't wear a red shirt or pants (oh god) the color of my truck, but I love it! I bought my first red car a number of years ago because I liked the car alot but at the time was looking for black. The red was awesome and I loved the way it cleaned up better than black. I've been hooked since.

BTW I think it is very vehicle dependant what looks best. Red can look pretty bad on a base corolla imho although I think that.......

yea man I dont know what people you are talking to but I have a bright red truck and all I ever get are compliments....and speeding tickets when I am not even speeding haha. All I know are red cars and trucks always cost more to insure, and I am guessing that is because people who buy or drive red trucks in the past are statistically speaking more like to speed and get in accidents. Sounds like some color profiling right there...

I am a cop and can honestly say with the number of vheicles i have stopped red ones are on the low side. To debunck the myth even further, I drive a red truck and love it. So if you got a red truck dont worry about it and enjoy.
