Rear View Mirror Sensor
Hi there,
I have a 2012 F-150 XLT 5.0L with XTR pkg. I noticed a little postage stamp sized sensor on the back side of my interior rear view mirror, and it's almost very pale yellow in colour. Can anybody tell me what this is used for? It looks like a light sensor of some sort. I know the sensor in the little black "bubble" on the dash is for the auto on headlight function, and the ambient temp sensor is by the hood latch up front, as well as the Sat Radio antenna being the black bubble on the roof. Just curious, that's all. Thanks!

That would be the light sensor that makes the auto dim feature of the rearview mirror work.
While sitting in the truck engine running in daylight, cover that sensor with your finger and watch how the rear view mirror dims out.
