Default Rancho vs Bilstein?

I went by my 4wheel parts dealer yesterday we spoke about doing a 4 corner bilstein 5100 setup for my 13 fx4 with the 2" level upfront.

However, im also considering rancho. I've seen people raving about the Bilsteins which is convincing, but what is the difference between the two? Im assuming they both have ride improvement on and off road, some roll stabilization, levelling, and more. But what makes one better than the other? Thanks

I am definitely leaning towards bilstein, heard guys in here praise them. I'm just checking options. I'm curious as to why bilstein is cheaper but seems to be better

What makes one better than the other? The biggest difference is the monotube vs twin tube design. Rancho calls their struts in the quicklift tri-tubes. The link below does a nice job of showing you the differences between the designs. But, either will give you a night and day type improvement over stock struts/shocks.

Bilstein hands down, come as OE on several vehicles and just last for ages until they finally wear out, Rancho's don't seem to have similar longevity that I've found in my years wrenching.

We usually use King Shocks or Bilstein 5100s for nice performance setups. Although I do not have any first hand experiences with the Ranchos.

Yeah I was kind of set on Bilstein but I was curious as to what Rancho had to offer but I'll just be moving forward with Bilstein. Thanks everyone

I can give my input from me running both of these on my 2004 1500 Chevy 4x4. It started life with the Rancho shocks for the first 7ish years. I switched over to the Bills with the external reservoir and the ride was very comfortable. My dad has the 5100 series on his 2500 HD and it rides very nice too. Both of the trucks were lifted (my dad still has his), and anybody who has had a Chevy knows that most of the suspension always felt like it was in the seats (so not always the most comfortable ride).
