Default Ramps

I've decided that I'm going back to doing my own oil changes on the fleet. I'm looking for opinions on the best ramps for lifting both my F150 and the little woman's lowered mustang GT. I was thinking Rhino MAX ramps- until I read the reviews- doesn't sound like they will hold up a F150 very well. A bunch of complaints that they crush after a few uses. There are some really nice aluminum ones, but they aren't rated for for more than 3000lbs per axle. since my truck weighs 6000lbs empty, and has about a 65-35 weight distribution, I'm guessing the front end is most likely over 4000. So- any suggestions?

It'll be hard to find a set that will meet both needs as they're generally a uniform size. Look for a ramp that is wide enough to accommodate wide truck tires and low enough so the Mustang valence or wheel trim doesn't drag.

I don't need much rise with my truck. I use a stack of planks. The ramps I've had for years I make work for all other applications.

I cut pieces of 2"X10"X2' with beveled cuts. Screwed 2 boards thick. Makes nice ramp for F150 4X4, plenty of room for oil changes etc. I use plastic ramps from Menards for Ford Fusion which is very low in front but clears.
I even make a long 3 tier set for my travel trailer to work underneath because it has dropped axles. Back tires set on 3rd level, front tires set on 2nd level. Also 2"X10" makes it easier to center tires.

I've used the Rhino ramps twice with my truck and 5 times with my wife's ground hugger Escape. No problems at all.

I've been using the Rhino ramps for 13 years for the Dodge Magnum RT. And it's no light weight coming in at 4400 lbs. No problem parking my F150 on them.

I use ramps to change the oil on my C5 Corvette, BMW 550xi & old Infiniti SUV and plan on doing my own oil changes on the '18 RCSB. Just be careful you don't drive over them completely, that would be BAD!

I do like to still jack the back up to level the vehicle out. Many cars have the drain plug at the front of the pan, so you won't get all the oil out if it's not level.

We have a set of Rhino Ramps that I use on the F350 and E150 at work to get under without any problem, just make sure they are setting on levelish ground.
