Default Not so made in the USA.

I just purchased a set of take off wheel/tire sets from Athens Ford Via Ebay.

After cleaning and inspecting them I was surprised to see that the OEM ford wheels are made in China. Years ago while working at the local Ford dealer I saw the wiring harnesses were being made in Mexico at that time. I wonder what else FoMoCo has farmed out to other countries ? I can't believe as high as the prices are for new trucks that so many components are made outside the USA. Just my 2 cents...

The US hasn't been competitive in manufacturing in quite a while. I'm guardedly hopeful that that is changing in our favor.

The truck is assembled in the the USA. Most of the parts that are used to assemble the truck are manufactured in other countries. This is very common. The price that is charged for something has no relation to where the parts are made. Companies can make more profit by outsourcing certain manufacturing processes. Just because something is made in the USA does not mean that it is better.

So true. For example, I-Phones are the most expensive phones, manufactured totally off-shore.

But they will continue to do so because they make a unbelievable profits by off-shoring production. It is all about the money.

Apple's mound of cash and cash equivalents continued to scrape the cloudline this quarter, coming in at $268.9 billion in the company's quarterly earnings report.
Ford is just keeping up with the competition.

It seems that the only 100% Made in USA vehicle is a TESLA,

A lot. The Toyota Tundra has more American made parts than the F150.

70% of the F-150's parts are manufactured in the U.S. / Canada including the engine and transmission. You can look up any year / make / model here:

Not every year, the 2018 is not listed. Since 70% includes Canada it doesn’t mean a whole lot since we don’t know what percent of that percent is the USA and what percent is Canada.
