Default Pwc

I’m in the market for a PWC, the wife finally said yes. Just can’t decide on which brand. I’m leaning towards a Yamaha, just not many in our area. This will be my 1st one so I was thinking used, just not sure what to look for. Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks.

Yamaha all the way. Ive been riding for 10 years now. My dad got a Yamaha xl760 back in 1998. It was a damn good machine that I rode until last summer. We now have a Yamaha FxHo and a FxSho (supercharged). They are both excellent machines. I would not reccomend the FxSho for a unexperienced rider. It is too much power for a novice. The FxHo is a damn good machine. Its great on gas, plenty of power, and comfortable on long rides. My dad's FxSho is ridiculous. Its a blast, but only me and him drive it. For a average person I would reccomend getting a 3 seater. You can still play with them, tow people, ride comfortable. They are stable and are fairly easy to control.

I know everyone has their preference but I chose Yamaha. In my 10 years riding Ive towed in probably 20 PWC's. Out of those only 2 were yamahas. One was they decided to throw a full size marine battery in the hull and just connect it. It bounced around and knocked a bunch of hoses loose and flooded the hull. The seadoo's are intercooled and Ive seen way too many problems with them. Polaris dropped out of the game. Honda's are okay machines, they just dont have the experience and engineering behind yamaha.

FxSho

Also if you plan on riding in the Ocean make damn sure you take care of it. You have to spray EVERYTHING down with a silicone spray afterwards. Flush out the entire system via water hose with fresh water. The salt corrodes the insides of these things like no other.

No salt water, just fresh. Now I just got to find a good used one. What is the average hours per season on these things?

Hmmm...thats a good question. It really depends on how much you ride and how many people ride. There are some days that I will easily put 10 hours on a machine.
