Honestly, I don't want to remove my CAI. I've noticed a difference since I put it on a few years ago.

Now someone said that a custom tune would cost about $150 so I would need to buy a programmer and then on top of that I would need to buy a custom tune?

Do the programmers not come with tunes for minor modifications?

I personally would go with the gryphon from power hungry performance if you call and talk to them the custom tunes are not that much and he can Tune for your specific mods look them up online all the prices are there I can't remember off the top of my head

That's what I was gonna do but I found a edge evolution for 150 used so I went the cheaper route and I can always send it in later if I want

Read this, lot's of good info! I went with 5 star tuning as he will rewrite tunes later down the line if you add mods. I got the SCT X3 with 3 custom tunes. 87 perf/tow, 87 Eco, and 91 Perf. I ordered on a Thursday, he loaded tunes and shipped it friday and it will be here Monday. He was very patient and answered all my noob questions and will ask you a bunch of questions about your truck to make the tunes specific to your truck.

Thanks everyone for your help! I actually purchased a used, unlocked SCT Xcal 3 from a trustworthy seller after I found out some more about them. He's a member here so I am confident that he wasn't trying to screw me over. Haha. I also sent an email about custom tunes to Justin @ VMP. I guess I could still send out emails to other places too though.

The signature says it all. lol
I forgot how long ago I came up with that....haha

Anyhow, enjoy the tuner man. I apparently lost the usb cable that connects from the computer to the tuner for it so I threw in the package the usb cable from mine. Ill pick another up from Bestbuy sometime but since the car is tuned exactly where I want it, shouldn't need it for a good bit. Unless I start debating those electric cutouts on the exhaust....hmmmm.... lol
