Hi jdrichardsonii.

My name is Ashley and I'm the new Ford Service rep here on the forum.

Have you taken your truck to a Ford dealer to have them take a look at your controls? I recommend starting there; let me know what they have to say.

Default Truck at the Shop

Hi Ashley,

The truck is at the shop now due to a climate control actuator problem. I have brought up the steering control issue again, and my rep's response was "Since we can not duplicate the problem, we can not do anything about it."

I explained I have a video demonstrating this, but he said it would not be sufficient because it won't help the tech diagnose the problem.

Can you help with this? I almost want to tell the rep to keep the truck and he can use it for a week or 2 until it happens to him. I'm just frustrated at this point, because its my 3rd attempt to address the problem and nothing can be done. To top it off my 3yr 36k will be expiring in a few months, and he has the nerve to tell me to purchase the extended warranty so the repair will be covered if/when the find it.

Can you help in any way?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi mvsammut,

I'm Crystal, the current Ford Customer Service Rep on this forum. Nice to meet you! I'll be happy to check out some options to assist; just send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and preferred servicing dealership.

Crystal

I have not had that problem, but mine will occasionally change the dash display on its own. The dealer could not make it happen.

Any updates from anyone with this issue? The volume button changes my track and its been doing it more and more recently. Is it a system reflash or button issue?

I, too, am having this issue, and the dealer said the same thing: couldn't replicate the problem. This has become more of an issue recently, and used to happen intermittently. When I try to change the track to the next song, it repeats or moves back to the previously played song. If I try turning up the volume, it will skip to the next track. Very frustrating when you're enjoying a good tune, go to turn up the volume, and it skips. Radio controls work fine.

I've got a 2014 Ford XLT with Sync basic (meaning not the MyFordTouch model). Any update is appreciated!
