Wow, yeah it happens but so does someone being struck by lightning... or winning the lottery.... You could die crossing the street, or driving to work. **** happens, but 99.99999% of the time you aren't going to be killed looking at a vehicle. I can show you 10 million + times someone hasn't died for every 1 time someone dies from a CL transaction. You probably shouldn't go to work, a movie, or the mall since shootings have happened in all those places too. You may not want to fly either..... Anyway I think this has been derailed from the topic somewhat....

If an article was posted for every successful transactions on CL I'd be glad to provide you with this information.

No not really. I've done many many CL transactions and never ran into any issues. I buy, sell, and trade all the time using CL.

Thanks for caring though.

This past August....When my 2WD 99 F150 with over 200K needed repairs worth more then the value of the truck I started looking at used F150s like you and what I found in my area the prices were ridiculous....crazy $$$ and HIGH MILAGE for trucks 10 years old and newer so I started looking at new 2WD XLs....best bang for the buck is what I was thinking......with my company discount and trade-in the "out the door" price paying cash (401k loan with payroll deductions) for a 2015 2WD V6 XL short bed with NO bells & whistles was $23,800 for everything including the sales tax, title & registration and all the other BS...unless you can find a real "Creampuff" in my experience for $15k I'd spend the extra $$$(if possible) and be looking at new with a warranty and no issues.....use some of that money for a down payment....BTW...I bought the 99 F150 with a 170K for $2000 off Craigslist from a private sale in 2009 and it treated me well for the 6 years I had it....I've made many transactions thru CL and never and a problem...BUYER BEWARE

Yes, there is a Carmax nearby, but all the times I've been there, they haven't had any trucks... some SUV's, yes, but no actual trucks.

I know all too well about Craigslist dangers... I learned the hard way one time before. The only reason I posted the link, was just for a visual of what my ideal truck would look like.

Given a choice, I'd prefer not to have the super crew cab, but IDK if that's an option for the Lariats. Also, if I had my first choice, I'd have the traditional shifter in the center console, rather than the one on the steering column.

This is probably a better example.
