posi?
You can look at the axle code on the drivers door jam and also check the tag on the rear diff. The axle code is only valid if it contains the factory axle and ratio if you post it someone will reply with the proper ratio, if the code starts with a letter it will have the limited slip differential.
If not factory axel like said before.
1. Jack up the rear so both tires are off the ground. put the transmission in nutral (use all safety) and spin one tire by hand. If the other tire spins in the same diffection it may be a posi unit. If it spins in the oppsitie dirrection it is not.
2. remove the rear cover (big mess if you don't have a pan to catch the oil inside) and see if there are springs between the spider grears.
To get close on the ratio.
1. Jack up the truck so the tire are off the gound, place jack stands, and get under the truck.
put a mark on the rear yoke and a tire for referance and spin the tire in one dirrection counting the number of times you see the mark on the yoke line up with your referance mark that you made for the rear yoke.
2. Pull the rear cover (watch for the mess) and find the numbers that are stamped on the ring and pinon and divid them to get an accurate number.
mark the yoke and the rear tire

Most gear sets are numbered with the ring and pinion tooth count, if you pull the diff cover off and spin it you will see a set of numbers like 301/84 that relates to approximately 3.58 to one.
