Default Plastic oil drain?

I went to get my oil changed today at my local oil change place that I have always used. They said that they would not do the oil change on my truck, because instead of having a metal oil drain, it has a plastic one with an O ring that inserts and twists to lock in place. They said that they have had numerous problems with this design - of it vibrating loose and leaking oil out causing the engine to lock up. They told me to ask Ford to replace my oil pan with one that takes a metal plug. Have any of you heard of this issue?

I guess I’ll take it somewhere else - no time to do it myself unfortunately. Just seems a little odd to me that they would do a plastic twist tight drain. Thanks for your response!

The only issue is with the oil change place, nothing wrong with the plug or pan.

Reminds me of a time I won a free change. The next time I did my own I discovered that the plug had been replaced by some POS that stayed tethered to the hole. It led to a mess. I suspect that the tech stripped the plug head.

Scary at first but it seems to work if no operator error. Transmission pan and gas tank (on '18s at least) are 'composite' as well.

Most of the kids at those Zippy Lube places are the one's who couldn't hack it at Burger King.
