Default pcv and air filter problem

Hey all

My 94 f 150 4x4 4.9 liter in line 6 cyl has a problem and i think it's related to the pcv. i get oil in my air filter, loss of power, slight miss around 35 to 45 mph. i posted once and was told that it could be a pcv problem or cracked ring. engine runs fairly well but not great. no smoke, not hard to start and the idle is ok. I haven't done a compression test. If in fact the pcv is plugged which i can't seem to find could there be related problems, hose's or anything else blocked.

Darn broke and could use some help.

Thanks hd ryder

If it's the same as my '87 the PCV is in the front of the valve cover, with a long hose attached to it running to the airbox. Pull it out and shake it, if it rattles it's okay.

You also have a breather filter in you air box under the air filter. I would change it and your PCV Valve, and see what happens.

Thanks to Sean and texasedition

I've checked the hose from the top of my valve cover to the air cleaner and changed both filters numerous times, that didn't seem to solve the problem.
That same hose has a round plastic connector on the engine end that snaps into the valve cover on the top. I bought a pcv from auto zone but it isn't the same part.
My chilton manual is a little unclear or maybe I picked a bad day to quit drinking.
Maybe i should keep on 2 wheels.

Thanks for the help i appreciate it.
