Well. After the guy questioned me at least 5 times about where I purchased my tires. I started to feel uncomfortable about their work and decided to leave.

What could have turned out to be a future customer has now turned out to be someone who will remember my uncomfortable experience and won't shop there in the future.
I'm confused why you felt uncomfortable about their work? Nobody in the store makes any type of commission except the head manager, their is no pay based on how many cars you can get out, the guys working in the back have no idea wether or not you bought tires from discount tire or not, not that that would even effect the quality of there work because they work on tires that discount tire doesn't even sell, all the time.

Nobody in the store has any reason to cheat you, and if they did they gained nothing personally from it so the risk of being fired isn't worth trying to cheat a customer if you can even find a way to do it, in fact we are more likely to be cheated by the customer and it happens all the time. I can't tell you how many times I've personally watched my store willingly bend itself over a barrel just to keep one worthless customer who decides they are more important than everyone else and wants to throw a hissy fit in the store like a 2 yr old. And my store personally sells up to $1Million in tires a Month! And we are willing to give away a free tire just to keep the customer happy and continually coming back, when we don't even need him/her. And don't even get me started on people who purposefully pound a nail in their sidewall so that we have to replace the tire for free.

Sorry for the rant but I just couldn't understand why their work would come into question. If you can find a tire shop that prides itself on providing the customer with an unexpected experience, keeping the customer safe, and keeping the customer happy(by any means necessary), then more power to ya.

But I'm willing to bet all that you find are shops like the Ford Dealer mentioned above, where "We just put a patch on it" and let the customer go. No offense to that poster but that is hardly following the Rubber Manufacturers Association guidelines on Tire Repair, which is understandable since its a dealer! They don't do only tires they have to be experts in a multitude of areas that I would rather not deal with, and tires aren't likely a large part of their business. But discount tire is without a doubt nothing but tire experts, and because tires are all we do, we follow the strictest of guidelines and educate ourselves so that we may keep the customer safe and happy.

Another thing to think about. How many people even realize that Discount Tire DOESN'T do Alignments! Maybe a lot but you'd be surprise how often I get asked that question. So you would think there could be some good money in it and it would be quite convenient for the customers. But we believe that a tire retailer who also does alignments has a conflict of interests. Think about it, the tires will bring in a lot more profit than alignments, so if I purposefully mis-align your tires, even just a little bit, I will have pre-maturely worn out your tires and caused you to come back in much sooner to buy new tires and make me more money.

Do what you want, but I strongly urge your to give discount tire the chance to earn your business. Many people never regret it, hopefully you won't either.

I dealt with one person out if a chain of thousands. My comment wasn't intended to be a reflection on all discount tires, just relaying my experience at this one

He made me feel that since I didn't buy the tires there that it wasn't in his interest to do the work. Maybe it wasn't and that is okay by me. Just don't offer it if you don't want to do it.

Thanks
I just plug them myself. If it was just from a nail or screw or something similar, you should be good. I have two plugs in my current set of tires (after years of no tire issues) and have had no problems with leaks, etc.

Just pick up a plug kit at any auto parts store.
