Parking Preferences?
I always back in. They keep creeping the rows together each time they paint and it gets harder and harder to back the beast out of a parking spot. It is even worse when you are surrounded by morons.
I usually like to take a couple of the "Hybrid Only" spaces when I go to the grocery store.
Nose vs back? Always been a nose parker. I just think its a little silly watching someone take 20 minutes to back in to a spot then say "its easier this way."
That be'n said, I have only recently gotten the SCrew, and have been thinking about the back in strategy. Possibly the only thing I miss about my Cherokee was that it cornered like a golf cart.

I back in and park far out. Would you believe I have had my truck 3 days and I already got my first door ding?? I am very careful where I park too.. Oh well it is a truck. If it doesn't get some scratches, dings, etc. you aren't using it as a truck. You should be driving a minivan.
How long until you guys got your first dings?

Like stated above, back 40 of the lot, and back in. That is what the camera and reverse sensors are for. Taking two up at the *** end of a store is not being a douchebag; taking two near the front is. With all the hippies in Austin looking for any reason at all to take a key to a pickup, SUV, or something that isn't politically correct and personally stamped by Al Gore, I avoid taking two if at all possible if parking is crowded in any way. Plus, backing in helps with tailgate thieves (which are becoming real common in Austin... was at my credit union and someone ahead in line was getting a loan to replace his tailgate because someone stole it.)
As for door dings, my 1998 lasted at least four years until it got its first; my 2010 about 2 weeks.

I normally find spots to back into...I worked in a very crowded place and its like Daytona 500 trying to get out the gate. When I back in, I have a better chance of making it to the front of the line to escape.
i back it 90% of the time, it depends on the parking lot. At the college i back it, closest parking to building is key and those parking spots are tiny. Most other places i would park really far away and come back to find the 1 idiot that had to park next to me. I have learned to take 2 parking spaces far away so no parks next to me.
