I've been using an oiled filter in my Mustang for over 8 years and never had any problems. It's the people who use too much oil when they clean it.

I've used oiled filters on every vehicle I have owned in the last 25 years and never a problem.

You guys do realize that to get higher air flow, it needs larger passages for the air to flow though right? Those larger passages also allow fine dust in at the same time until the point where the oil catches enough dust to effectively start actually filtering the air to the point that an OEM filter filters at. Before then, your engine is ingesting fine dust.On a NA engine, not that big a deal, but insert a turbo in the middle and those impellers get chewed up over time. It is what is known as dusting the engine. Well documented for the unbelievers too.

Use at your own risk. I find it is a waste of money with too big a risk. A standard OEM filter allows more than enough air for the engine to operate. Just like adding an aftermarket CAI, no benefit to it other than looks, the stock box is already a CAI.

Paper + a separator/catch can....just trying to keep the intake runners as clean as I can. If it's a waste of money to you...don't do it and don't tell me not to. Just checked the one on the wife's 2015 Honda Civic and found oil in it too...Even ol' Crazy Scotty Kilmer likes them,

What about Motorcraft OEM filters? They are lightly oiled.
